Digital file format
Submit a color JPEG image measuring exactly 1280 x 1600 pixels in a 4:5 aspect ratio. The file must use 100% quality and be no larger than 3 MB.
Head size and position
Keep the face centered. The chin-to-head height should occupy about 52-58% of the image height, and the eye line should be about 50-65% of the image height above the bottom edge.
Pose and expression
Face the camera directly with the head and shoulders straight. Keep both eyes open, use a neutral expression and close the mouth. Head rotation should remain within approximately 5 degrees in every direction.
Background
Use a uniform background without patterns, shadows or other objects. Grey around RGB (190, 190, 190) +/- 10 is recommended; white is also accepted.
Lighting and image quality
The face must be sharp and evenly lit, with natural color and clearly visible details. Avoid shadows, glare, red-eye, overexposure, underexposure and strong image noise.
Glasses and head coverings
Glasses must have clear, untinted lenses without reflections, and the frames must not cover the eyes. Head coverings are allowed only for religious reasons and must leave the facial features fully visible.
myPhoto submission
For passport applications submitted in Greece, the digital photograph is submitted through the government myPhoto service. Uploads to myPhoto are performed by a registered professional photographer.
